Combat ID in the Dark

Sadly, fratricide has been with us
on the battlefield for quite a long
time. These days, considerable
resources are being employed to stop
it. This is one of the reasons behind the
adoption of new camouflage patterns by
the U.S. military. Two separate incidents,
one reported by the national media and
another relayed by a co-worker recently
returned from the theater of operations,
involving members of our armed forces
and a training team, are in my mind as I
write this article.
