Glock Armorer's Course
by Erick Gelhaus
My department recently hosted a Glock armorer’s course so
that we could send several of our instructors through it.
Part of the reasoning behind this
was that, if the instructors had a
better understanding of how the
weapon worked, it would be easier for
them to instruct it. The time spent in this
class, when compared to previous versions,
was far more worthwhile.
Dennis Tueller, formerly of the Salt
Lake City Police Department, was the instructor.
Dennis’ name should be on the
familiar side, as he taught at the American
Pistol Institute (API—Gunsite) and
Thunder Ranch. He also developed the
drill, later named after him, which is
used to demonstrate the speed at which
one’s opponent can close distance.
