One thing about the firearms world is that very little is truly new.
The dangerous game sight of African
hunting fame is one such
item that has reappeared. The
original dangerous game sights were designed
for shooting (and hitting) moving
quadrupeds. These sights consist of a
front sight post with ball on it and a rear
sight base, generally with three shallow
Vs graduated for distance—each folds
down.
Ashley Emerson felt this design could
be adapted to pistols for a similar problem—
shooting dangerous bipeds—and
resurrected them a few years back. The
company he formed to produce these
sights has gone through a few name and
ownership changes, and is now known
as XS Sights.
